The Electoral College is not an effective way to choose a president in the 21st century. Research Question: The Constitution should be amended to abolish the Electoral College and adopt the national popular vote when electing a future President of the United States of America. This change would generate more interest in presidential election campaigns and increase the amount of overall voters. Thesis: Research suggests the “Electoral College” is not an effective way to choose a president in the 21st century because elections have been lost when winning the popular vote but not the electoral college, which makes voters feel their votes do not count unless their in a swing state, and takes the power away from the people and gives it to the state.
